Communion Statement
The Lord's Supper is celebrated here in the confession and glad confidence that our Lord, as He says, gives not only bread and wine, but His very body and blood to eat and drink for the forgiveness of sin. In joyful obedience to the clear teaching of our Lord Jesus those are invited to His table who trust His words, repent of all sin, and set aside any refusal to forgive and love as He forgives and loves us. They show forth His death until He comes. Because Holy Communion is a confession of the faith which is confessed at this altar, any who are not yet instructed, in doubt, or who hold a confession differing from that of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod and so are unable to receive the Sacrament are invited to meditate on God's Word in the distribution hymns and pray for the day when divisions will have ceased. If you wish to receive communion in your pew, please inform an usher.

7/8 Grade Thank You - Lenten Dinner
A great big thank you to everyone who donated and participated in the spaghetti dinner this week! It gave the class an opportunity to serve supporters of our church and school. We hope you enjoyed the meal and all of the wonderful art displayed in the gym! Thank you again! --Mrs. Wyman and the 7th and 8th graders.
Tuesday Morning Women's Bible Study
The Tuesday morning women's bible study is beginning a new session on April 9 at 9:30 a.m. in the Ministry Center. We will be studying 1 & 2 Samuel. If you are interested please contact Julia Appold 989-225-1889, by April 3, so we have enough books ordered.
Wednesday Evening Lenten Supper
The last Lenten Supper is on March 20. The children attending Camp LuLayLea this summer will be putting on a Mexican themed dinner. Come enjoy the food and fellowship!
Tri-Cities Good Friday Service - Joint Choir
Please join us in the joint choir for the Tri-Cities Good Friday service. Everyone is welcome, regardless of the number of rehearsals you can make. We will be rehearsing at St. John, Amelith on the following dates:
March 23 @ 1 pm
March 26 @ 6 pm
The service is on Good Friday at 1 pm at Horizons.
Save a Pizza, Feed a Youth!
The Sunday Night Youth Group is recruiting culinary capable congregants willing to provide a meal for 8-12 people (teenagers and leaders). We have a sign-up poster on display by the Youth Room to select a date and provide meal details. Food allergies are listed as well. SNYG starts at 5:00 every Sunday unless noted. This will add some diversity to their Sundays. Thank you for your continued support of the Youth Group!
St. Patrick's Day Parade
March 17th at 2 pm St. Paul will participate in Bay City's St. Patrick's Day Parade. Our float theme is Wizard of Oz because "There's No Place Like St. Paul!" Feel free to wear Wizard of Oz themed items (if you have any), St. Paul shirts, or green.

Easter Egg Hunt is planned for Saturday, March 23

Tri-City Good Friday Service
Please plan to attend the Tri-City Good Friday Service, March 29 at 1:00 p.m.at the Horizon's Conference Center, 6200 State Street, in Saginaw, MI. This year, unfortunately, we will not be having the Cross Walk. An invitation is extended to men or women who are interested in ushering for the service. We would like you to be there 30 to 45 minutes early to receive your row assignments and name tags. Also please bring a collection plate.

Stewardship - An Act of Faith
Mark 10:45 – “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Jesus gives everything He has: He gives Himself. That self-giving is the model for our giving in all aspects of our lives. In our family, in our church, and in the world at large, Jesus calls us to follow His example of self-giving. We can only do this if we are connected to His self-giving in faith.

Valley Lutheran Home Concert
On Sunday, March 17, the 80 musicians of the Symphonic Band and Golden Voice Choir of Valley Lutheran High School, under the direction of Rebecca Sugden and Paul Eschmann, will present a Lenten worship concert beginning at 3:00pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church Frankentrost. The theme of this year's worship is THY WILL BE DONE. Through word and song we’ll focus on the overwhelming and incomprehensible love shown to us as the Son submitted to the will of the Father. The music program at Valley Lutheran High School has Christ as its foundation and strives to teach students that their musical gifts are a unique and powerful way to share the message of Christ with others. This tour is an extension of that teaching and offers our students the opportunity to share their faith in that way. Christ’s message, as presented through our concert, is for all people to hear. This is the final concert of a 5-day, 5-concert tour through Indiana, Missouri, Illinois, and Michigan. We extend a warm welcome to you, and pray that you will find strength and peace as we focus on Christ’s ultimate act of love on our behalf. Please invite a friend to hear this important message of Christ’s love for us!
Michigan LLL District Annual Convention
Mark your calendars! Join the Michigan LLL District at their annual convention hosted at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church Worship & Event Center in Frankenmuth, Michigan. All are welcome to attend. Our guest speakers are Lutheran Hour Ministries staff members Jeff Craig-Meyer, President, U.S. Ministries and Rev. Dr. Chad Lakies, Vice President, Ministry Engagement focusing on Energizing Mission. Join us for a day of spiritual growth with inspirational presentations to encourage and equip you as partners in His mission.
Doors open at 9:00 a.m. with the convention beginning at 9:30 a.m. No cost to register – free-will offerings will be gathered during the event to assist the MI LLL District with meal costs in addition to supporting the Michigan Division of the Orphan Grain Train. Please register by May 3 for meal and seat count for the day.

“Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the LORD. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. Epistle
Hebrews 5:1–10
Every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness. Because of this he is obligated to offer sacrifice for his own sins just as he does for those of the people. And no one takes this honor for himself, but only when called by God, just as Aaron was. So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”; as he says also in another place, “You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.” In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him, being designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.

And they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them. And they were amazed, and those who followed were afraid. And taking the twelve again, he began to tell them what was to happen to him, saying, “See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles. And they will mock him and spit on him, and flog him and kill him. And after three days he will rise.” And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came up to him and said to him, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you.” And he said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?” And they said to him, “Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory.” Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?” And they said to him, “We are able.” And Jesus said to them, “The cup that I drink you will drink, and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you will be baptized, but to sit at my right hand or at my left is not mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared.” And when the ten heard it, they began to be indignant at James and John. And Jesus called them to him and said to them, “You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all.
