Families and Community Members,
The energy at the school has been high with the anticipation of the upcoming holidays. It was amazing to see so many new and familiar faces at the performance on Thursday. We are so proud of all of our students for their willingness to fully participate in this performance. The smiles and songs were heartwarming. We are especially grateful to our Performing Arts teacher, Magellan Helm, for their creativity and enthusiasm. Also, our tech support team, Matt Moody and Michael Barsanti were essential to the success of the performance. Finally, we want to give a huge shout-out to the sixth grade for their leadership in this performance. It was amazing to see our oldest students shine!
On a separate note, we have plans in place for our ski program to start! The Ski Runner program that we had in the past has been canceled and we are working to develop our own program. At this point, it looks like we will be going to Saskedena Six on Thursday afternoons from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm. We are still trying to figure out logistics in terms of bussing to and from the mountain. There is a chance that we will need to have parents pick up their skiers at the mountain as we may not have a bus for a return trip. Thanks to those who have volunteered to help in the lodge but we also need volunteers who are willing to ski with the kids. You don’t have to be a pro by any means, you just need to know the basics. Please let me know as soon as possible if you can volunteer to ski with our students on Thursday afternoons. As we work toward finalizing the details of our program, be on the lookout for sign-up sheets and details as it pertains to payment.
As school was canceled due to snow on Friday and it was scheduled to be our Pajama Day for the final day of spirit week, we will move Pajama Day to this upcoming Monday, December 19th. Students can roll out of bed, brush their teeth, and head to school in their PJs!
Finally, I want to wish everyone a very happy holiday season. It takes a village to raise the children of Sharon, Vermont. We are grateful for your support. May your holidays be filled with warmth and joy. Please note that we have a half day on Wednesday, December 21st and we will look forward to seeing our students back on January 3rd.
Respectfully,
Keenan Haley
