Time is winding down to be part of the

St. Nicholas Ordination Gift!

Rev. Bob is being ordained June 22! We are accepting contributions to purchase a congregational ordination gift: a lovely traveling communion kit that will be a blessing to Rev. Bob and our congregation, and that will further St. Nicholas' mission to actively share Christ's love for all people.

You are welcome to donate through Vanco or in the offering plate on Sunday using an envelope from the narthex.

You can view our intended gift by clicking here.

Rev. Bob's Ordination:

Ride to the Cathedral

The ordination is scheduled for June 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta.

Steve Morse is graciously providing his passenger van so that more St. Nicholas congregants can attend and support Rev. Bob as he enters the priesthood. The van holds 12 people - contact Erin in the office to reserve a seat, or there is a sign-up sheet in the narthex.

If you have already signed up, information will be coming soon regarding departure time and other details.

M.I.A.

If you have seen the following missing items around the church, please let Erin know. They are deeply missed (and replacing them is one more expense for St. Nicholas).

  • Charger for the rear streaming camera in the sanctuary (will say "Mevo" on it)
  • Charger for the Samsung tablet for streaming
  • Beige Scotch tape dispenser from the office workroom

Raising Young Episcopalians through Acolyte Service

If you have children in your home aged 12 and up, they're old enough to serve as acolytes in the Episcopal Church. Acolytes participate in the processional at the beginning of the service, assist with candle-lighting, and carry the cross or the gospel. They can have duties within the service as well.

This is a great way to immerse your young person in the beautiful rhythms and rituals of Episcopalian worship, as well as a way for them to serve their church family.

Contact Erin in the office to get started.

Childcare Provider Wanted

We are currently seeking a responsible adult to provide childcare in the nursery during Sunday Services and the occasional special event. This is a paid position, and there are training requirements.

Contact the church office to express interest and receive the job description.

Sunday Treats!

Parish Life kicked off post-service Fellowship time on Easter Sunday with cookies and lemonade. We'd like to continue this tradition on Sundays to give us a few minutes after the service to just enjoy each other's company.

If you'd like to bring a simple treat one Sunday a sign-up sheet is in the narthex.

Rehoming old Prayer Books

There is a stack of old, worn Prayer Books on a table in the back of the Parish Hall. If you or someone you know would like one, please help yourself. Any left after a couple of weeks (or sooner, if they’re in the way) will be disposed of.

Prayer Requests

Your prayers are asked for

  • Ann Bacher;
  • Liz Dixon;
  • Kathy McMurtry & family, who are mourning the loss of her father, Bill (obituary here);
  • Judy Chinberg, neighbor of John & Charlotte Winsness;
  • Connie Blackmon's sister-in-law, Henrietta Blackmon; and
  • Tim Waller & family (friends of Lynn Hall), mourning the recent loss of their son.

Continued prayers for all those in need within our community and those in the world who have suffered due to war and natural disaster. We pray for peace for the people of Israel and the Palestinians.

Please send all prayer requests to pastoralcare@stnicholashamilton.org.
