Nick Wroblewski: The Draw of the Lake

On view through January 8, 2023



Nick Wroblewski is an award-winning woodcut printmaker based out of Duluth, MN. On exhibit are his recent large, colorful, handcrafted prints celebrating nature and the rugged beauty of Lake Superior's North Shore.

Karen Savage-Blue: Laughing Waters

Karen Savage-Blue is an Anishinaabe artist. Her paintings explore themes of internal reflection, identifying with nature, and exposing transitions from human to natural forms.

Water Stories: New Work by Anne Labovitz

On view through January 22, 2023



For this exhibition, St. Paul artist Anne Labovitz creates colorful and powerful large-scale works and installations that invite the audience to consider their lives in connection to water. Labovitz will be giving a Walk & Talk Tour on Saturday, January 21 at 1pm.

Don’t miss your chance to experience Water Stories: New Work by Anne Labovitz, and learn about the exhibition from the exhibiting artist, Anne Labovitz! Labovitz has created colorful and powerful large-scale works and installations that invite the audience to consider their lives in connection to water. This tour will use assistive listening devices, and will include take place in the galleries of the exhibition.

Flora: First Look Preview Party

Friday, January 27 | 7-10pm

Celebrate the opening of three new exhibitions, all under the theme of Flora.


A trajectory of three artists, three mediums, and three masterful surface explorations of the botanical wonders of our world. Historic Japanese prints from Imao Keinen, contemporary porcelain vessels by Hitomi Hosono, and printed fabrics and original prints from Ian Hanesworth.


This evening will debut MMAM's new literary arts gallery: Waking Worlds. Featuring original illustrations from three book projects; Mary Casanova’s Wake Up, Island and Hush, Hush, Forest as illustrated by printmaker Nick Wroblewski, and World of Wonder: In Praise of Fireflies, Whale Sharks, and Other Astonishments, written by Aimee Nezhukumatathil and illustrated by Fumi Nakamura.
