Empowering Women And Children Impacted By The Criminal Justice System
Greetings!

Have you ever tried to calm a crying infant? Have you attempted to warm a bottle quickly but it's never fast enough? Imagine doing this as a new mother waiting for a corrections officer to help you get warm water, while you sit in a jail cell with your crying infant.

These are the challenges new moms in Suffolk's jails face. And this challenge doesn't happen at all in Nassau's jails, where newborns aren't even allowed to stay with their mothers at all. We aim to change this.

Our team meets with mothers behind bars and all women in all three of Long Island's jails. We provide fifteen programs each week to support our members on the inside and prepare them for successful reentry.

Women who join New Hour have a 2% chance of returning to jail, opposed to the Island-wide recidivism rate of 65%. We can only continue to provide this needed support to keep us all healthier and safer with your help and support.

Each dollar you give will support a mother and infant behind bars, a woman in reentry and a child who is struggling to cope with their parent's incarceration. Will you make a donation to us and pledge to be a part of the solution?
It takes all of us to change our community for the better and it starts with one person at a time. Help us make a difference in the lives of women, children and mothers today.

With gratitude from our team,

Serena, Danielle, Amanda, Daphne, Shannon, Bria,
