NC Wesleyan University Sends Off Class of 2023
|
On Saturday, May 6, North Carolina Wesleyan University held its annual commencement ceremony at the Rocky Mount Event Center. The University celebrated 418 graduates, marking its 83rd graduation.
The event was open to graduates, faculty, the platform party and guests of graduates. There were 34 international students from 17 different countries. Read more.

Class of 1973 Inducted into Golden Bishops Circle
In 2021, North Carolina Wesleyan University created the Golden Bishops Circle (GBC) to honor alumni who have commemorated 50 years or more since graduation. When alumni celebrate their 50th Class Reunion (Golden Reunion) they are inducted into the GBC, thus becoming a Golden Bishop. Saturday, May 6, members of the Class of 1973 lead the commencement procession and were recognized and officially inducted into the GBC.
During their time back on campus, members of the Class of 1973 attending also enjoyed a Welcome Reception on Friday, May 5 and lunch on Saturday, May 6, followed by a Campus Store visit and a campus tour, complete with visiting some of their old dorm rooms. It was a great time of reminiscing, sharing memories, renewing friendships and learning about North Carolina Wesleyan University in 2023.

First Carolina Bank Champions NCWU Sports Stadium Campaign
|
First Carolina Bank supports North Carolina Wesleyan University's Sports Stadium Campaign with an additional $25,000. Chief Banking Officer, Maxie Coker, presented the check on campus Thursday, May 4. The funds will be used in part, to go towards construction of the stadium's press box. Read more.

NCWU Ranked Most Affordable Private University in NC by The New York Times
|
A March 2023 analysis by The New York Times ranked North Carolina Wesleyan University as one of the top ten most affordable colleges in North Carolina and the most affordable private, nonprofit university in the state. These rankings were based on net price--the price that students actually pay to attend after financial aid and other grants. The Times' rankings included 26 colleges and universities in North Carolina, both public and private. Read more.

NCWU's First Faculty Member of Color Earns Jefferson-Pilot Award
|
North Carolina Wesleyan University Professor, Dr. Patricia Brewer, has been awarded with the 2023-2024 Jefferson-Pilot Professorship. This award is the highest and most singular honor that can be bestowed upon a faculty member and is given in recognition of scholarship, teaching and community service. Read more.

Wesleyan Society Western Shindig Held
|
|
On Friday, April 28, Wesleyan Society members (donors who have given at the level of $1,000 or more) donned their boots and hats and enjoyed an evening of dancing, food, and good ole country music at a Good Ole Fashioned Western Shindig. It was a REAL good time!

Students, organizations, parents, alumni, and community supporters now have the opportunity to inscribe their names at North Carolina Wesleyan University. The Office of Advancement is selling bricks to be placed at the entrance located at the south end of the Pearsall Library addition, or at the Leon Russell Chapel entrance. Fantastic Little Paintings by artist, Bob Ross, is set to adorn the walls of The Mims and Gravely Galleries at The Dunn Center from November 2, 2023 through January 4, 2024. This will be the first time a Bob Ross exhibit has been to North Carolina. With 100 paintings, this will be the largest exhibition ever seen under one roof globally.
