IAWF ART GALLERY 

We are proud to announce that IAWF will be hosting an Art Exhibition at Coastline Community College Art Gallery on June 23 & 24 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM with featured artwork by Ali Shahbazi. Admission is FREE so please come and join us! Click here for more  information .




IAWF LIFE ACADEMY

IAWF will be hosting its 3rd Annual Life Academy in Silicon Valley. The academy will focus on the tech industry, and will include tours of Facebook, Google, and other related companies.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet with movers and shakers of the field, well-known venture capitalists, and philanthropists.

IAWF would like to express its highest gratitude to Dr. Leila Jahangari for being a  mentor and supporting the IAWF Mentorship Program. 

Dr. Leila Jahangiri is a Clinical Professor and Chair of the Department of Prosthodontics at New York University College of Dentistry since 2002, and serves NYU as a University Senator. She completed her B.D.S. from King's College, University of London (UK) and D.M.D. training, Certificate in Prosthodontics, and Master's of Medical Sciences degrees from Harvard School of Dental Medicine where she was the recipient of the Joseph L. Henry Award for "Overall Achievement in Clinical and Research Training and Contribution to the School." Dr. Leila Jahangiri's scholarship is focused on teaching effectiveness strategies particularly related to classroom and clinical teaching.

Northern California

Prior to joining Pars, Ellie Clelland was a founding member and Program Director at Global Catalyst Foundation, a non-profit foundation that initiates and supports innovative technology projects worldwide to improve education and alleviate poverty. Ellie's in-country project work includes South Africa, Tanzania, Namibia, Lebanon, Jordon, Israel, Palestine and Iran to evaluate and advise on funded programs. Ellie has served on the board of New Global Citizens, and currently serves on the Board of Support for Partners of Sustainable Development. Support for Partners of Sustainable Development supports advocates and raises awareness of the projects being implemented in the Middle East for the youth, women, and deprived communities. Ellie is currently the Chair of the Refugee and Immigrant Forum of Santa Clara County.

Sarah Aghassi
Southern California

Sarah Aghassi serves as the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer/General Manager for the County of San Diego's Land Use and Environment Group. LUEG is comprised of the departments of Public Works; Environmental Health; Planning and Land Use; Parks & Recreation; Agriculture; Weights & Measures; Air Pollution Control District; and the Farm & Home Advisor. The departments have a combined workforce of 1,550 persons and an annual operating budget of over $400 million. Before appointment to her current position, she served as the Director of the County's Office of Strategy and Intergovernmental Affairs, where she managed the legislative program and policy issues on behalf of the Board of Supervisors & responded to state and federal legislation impacting the operations, fiscal stability, programs and services of the county.

Goli Ameri is the President & CEO of the Center for Global Engagement, with the mission to foster engagement between the United States and the rest of the world. The goal is to promote shared values and increase mutual understanding and respect. She was the Under Secretary for Humanitarian Diplomacy at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the world's largest humanitarian organization responsible for global diplomacy. Ms. Ameri served as the US Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs, which fosters mutual understanding between the people of the United States and people around the world. Ms. Ameri's previous positions includes serving as a Presidentially-Nominated Representative to the 60th Session of the United Nations General Assembly and a Public Delegate to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights.
