(Oct 31st, Webinar) - Free Virtual CIPS Event!
|
|
FREE Virtual Event on Monday October 31st 2022 at 11am ET
Do you know what skills you need in the future? Do you know what skills you currently have? As the Association of IT Professionals in Canada CIPS is trying to assist by allowing all members to assess their knowledge and experience and access training to help improve both. The demand for IT talent worldwide is increasing so the entire IT community needs to work together to advance individually and collectively. That journey starts with an understanding of where “we” are and a plan to get to where we need to be. The Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) is one of the tools CIPS is employing to help with the journey. This session will help attendees understand the challenge of Digital Transformation and plan for the future.

SFIA User Webinar – University of South Florida - Focusing on Skills (Nov 3rd or 4th)
|
|
This SFIA user story webinar is from Lani Boothman-Carpenter, Associate Director of Resource Management in the IT department at the University of South Florida (USF IT).
In addition to growing the talent needed to meet the IT needs of the University of South Florida, the USF IT Department competes with the IT industry to recruit and retain IT employees.
- One way they aim to keep up with industry while retaining and engaging the best talent is to focus less on roles and more on skills.
- Focusing on skills helps the department to pivot and leverage internal resources to accomplish the University’s IT goals.
- The SFIA framework lends itself well to the Agile methodologies that the department follows as it identifies the IT skills needed to perform various jobs in the IT industry.
The webinar is taking place twice – November 3rd/4th depending on your time zone.

CIPS Fellow Kewal Dhariwal FCIPS, I.S.P., ITCP releases textbook with Blair Kjenner: Breaking Bad 3D Enterprise Systems
|
|
We all have experienced system failures: over budget, requirements changed - doesn’t meet needs anymore, scope creep, late delivery, no integration with existing systems, etc.
CIPS Fellow Kewal Dhariwal FCIPS, I.S.P., ITCP's textbook (with Blair Kjenner) titled “Breaking Bad 3D Enterprise Systems” is now published and solves these issues.
It includes an innovative data integration strategy for all enterprise systems in the world using a global 3D primary key solution fostering data governance, record governance and an organized Data Lakehouse. It overcomes all the limitations of replicated primary keys (and thus silos) in SAP, MS Dynamics, Oracle-PeopleSoft and other ERP systems.
Companies adopting the concepts in our book may be able to leapfrog all companies/countries in the world by implementing these methods and system architecture.
CIPS Members receive 25% off the price of this book. Use the coupon Breaking-Bad-25-off-318
