Come join us for an Avondale Adult Education event led by Angelica Garnett. She's a bilingual and bicultural educator who has spent 16 years working with and advocating for the immigrant community in Charlotte. Garnett was born and raised in Columbia before moving to the U.S. She taught for several years at Myers Park High School. She now oversees the Asylum Narrative Translation Project which helps asylum seekers share their stories. The workshop lays the foundation for a basic understanding of the immigration system, looks at how the border situation impacts communities, and offers opportunities to engage.

If you need childcare to attend, please email [email protected] so we can make those arrangements.
