"Pastor Jan, it's complicated because of the gangs, and who knows what else?
Shortages of fuel have driven fuel to the black market, so now it's selling for $20-$25 a gallon (if you can even get any).
Gangs block fuel and food coming from PaP so the price of food has quadrupled (if you can even find food).
Starvation has begun. All this is happening in Jacmel.
Because of this, people are furiously demonstrating with roadblocks, etc. Markets and banks have closed their doors 4 out of 5 days. On the one day that banks are open, the lines are out the door and they only give a person a fraction of what they ask for.
Rice and beans that are their staple food is 4 times more expensive, and they can't afford it. Pastor Jan, it's a royal MESS!
Schools couldn't start because motorcycles can't afford the gas to take teachers and students to school.
The World Food depot in another city was looted by the gangs and everything was taken."
ORH, with the Pastors of Hosanna, has devised a safe but very effective way to get help to Hosanna Baptist Church for those in Jacmel.
