(Livermore, Calif., April 11, 2024) - Las Positas College (LPC) is pleased to announce the official opening of its new Public Safety Complex and Advanced Manufacturing & Transportation Building, marking a significant milestone in the college's commitment to providing cutting-edge educational facilities and programs to help students prepare for successful careers in high-demand technical fields.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening event will take place on April 16, 2024 at 4:15 PM on the LPC campus, located at 3000 Campus Hill Drive in Livermore, California. Students, alumni, faculty, staff, friends of the college and media members are all invited to join in celebrating this momentous occasion.
The co-located Public Safety Complex (PSC) and Advanced Manufacturing & Transportation (AMT) Buildings represent a significant investment in the future of education and workforce development at the college. These modern facilities, funded largely by the support and contributions of community members through Bond Measure A, are equipped with the latest technology and resources to support hands-on learning experiences and prepare students for careers in high-demand fields, including Fire Technology, Administration of Justice, Advanced Manufacturing, Welding, Auto Technology, and Emergency Medical Services.

The Public Safety Complex features impressive amenities, including a 2,400-square foot, three-story fire training tower, EMS simulation lab and situation rooms, fire training spaces with “Class A” burn areas, and advanced training apparatuses. These facilities provide students in the Fire Technology, Administration of Justice, and Emergency Medical Services programs with invaluable hands-on training opportunities in realistic environments.
Similarly, the Advanced Manufacturing & Transportation Building boasts cutting-edge labs, classrooms, and expansive workspaces dedicated to auto technology, welding, and advanced manufacturing. Equipped with the latest technology and equipment, these facilities prepare students for careers in the rapidly evolving fields of manufacturing and transportation.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be followed by guided tours of the Public Safety Complex and Advanced Manufacturing & Transportation Building, allowing attendees to explore the facilities and learn more about the innovative programs offered at Las Positas College. Light refreshments will be served, providing an opportunity for networking and celebration.
