Expansion in the North, South & In Between

Hello Lori,

I, together with Cora, Leonora, Pastor Jay, and a friend spent six days in Cagayan Province to promote CCI. Cagayan is the northernmost province of the Philippines. It took us twelve hours to drive from Bulacan to Cagayan, including rest stops. I preached at a church anniversary and promoted CCI training among pastors in Tuguegarao and neighboring towns. Please pray that the vision of training pastors and leaders in the local church will take root and become a reality.

I also went to South Cotabato to meet with our team consisting of Pastor Repaso, Pastor Reggie, and Pastor Art. We held a Teacher Training Workshop in Sultan Kudarat, and a Resolving Conflict in a Godly Way seminar in Koronadal City. I appointed Pastor Samuel Magtulis as a new AC-in-training in Sultan Kudarat.

Pastor Melvin started a new class in Cebu, and Pastor Val started a new class in Bukidnon.

Pastor Nonie and Pastor Candole promoted CCI training in Negros Occidental while Pastor Syjuco promoted CCI in Negros Oriental.

We appreciate your prayers and support.

Workshops & Seminars

We held a Teacher Training Workshop (TTW) in Sultan Kudarat with seven participants representing five churches. Pastor Sam Magtulis is now the AC-in-training in Sultan Kudarat. He will promote CCI and oversee the classes in the province.

Pastor Repaso, Pastor Reggie, Pastor Art and I held a Resolving Conflict in a Godly Way seminar in Koronadal City with 42 participants. They were very enthusiastic about the topic especially during the group discussions.

Here are some comments from some of the participants:

·      “This seminar is eye-opening, biblical, practical, and applicable to the present.”

·      “I learned that prayer is the first step to take before resolving conflict.”

·      “I learned that every time we try to resolve conflict, we must always rely on the Word of God.”

·      “I learned that in dealing with conflict, we must deal with the issue, not the person himself/herself.”

·      “In resolving conflict, always go back to the Scriptures; that is the biblical way.”

Testimonies

Pastor Joel Orillo, Sr. graduated in 2019 and was assigned to minister in Koronadal City. Today, about 30 adults and 15 children are attending the worship services at his church. He spends his own money to do the ministry. He said, “CCI training helped me to grow, win souls, and share the Gospel among the B’laan (tribe).” He plans to train B’laan members for the ministry, starting in August.

Pastor Richard Martizano served for 21 years in the Philippine Army and retired in 2020. He had been raised in a Christian family. He realized that the insurgency cannot be quelled by force and so he shared the Gospel with the people in the communities where he was assigned and planted a church there. He did not have any theological training; he only had a Gideons Bible with the plan of salvation printed inside. When he left the military, he joined a CCI class and graduated in 2022. He planted a church in Koronadal which now has more than 80 adult members, and another church in Tinongcop with about 50 members. He is now leading three churches with the help of church workers whom he is training. He is grateful that he was able to apply to the ministry the principles that he was learning even while he was still undergoing training.
