A Message from our VP of Academics and Tech | |
To The Carondelet Community,
The year is winding down and the big events to look forward to this week is the launch of this year’s AP testing. Carondelet participates in the College Board’s Advanced Placement programming (AP for short). AP courses give students the chance to tackle college-level work while they're still in high school. The yearlong classes offered in subjects in all departments (outside of Religion) are intense and content-heavy. They culminate in externally graded tests that the students sit for and depending on the grade received, can give students college credit. Currently, Carondelet students have 23 AP courses available to them, and next year, we are adding two new AP courses to our programming (AP Human Geography and AP European History).
If your child has an AP test this week (you will find the schedule below). Please make sure that they get a good night’s sleep and remind them that the result does not determine their worth. Just taking the class has already exposed them to college-level coursework and has helped them develop and gain academic skills. We are proud of their hard work and this testing is just more experience and an opportunity for growth!
Dr. Elizabeth Chaponot
Vice Principal of Academics and Ed Tech
