Above: Jamaican, RAF, World War Two veterans Alan Wilmott and Laurie Philpott feature in our new book 'Black history Walks in London Volume 1. Mr Wilmott would lead groups of Black soldiers to knock out any white gangs who called them the N word. Mr Philpott published one of the first Black newspapers (post Windrush) in the country and used it to fight for equality in 1957. He used his ex-forces mates to distribute it across the nation. They are both dead now but were regular guests at our Imperial War Museum events back in the early 2000s. The book is available from this link

Below: 'Black Panther's real African history and the Books to prove it' is part of our two 'Mighty World of Marvel' sessions at the Phoenix cinema starting this Sunday 23rd October 12pm.
