The Restoration Has Begun....

THANK YOU EMMANUEL!!!!

What is the Giving Challenge?

It's an exciting online 24-hour giving event that connects numerous non-profit organizations with passionate donors. The Challenge creates a lasting, powerful impact in supporting these local and diverse causes.

How does it work?

Each organization's giving link will be live for 24 hours, from 12 PM on Tuesday, April 9th to 12 PM on Wednesday, April 10th. During this time, donors can go online to www.GivingChallenge.org to make a secure donation, helping their favorite organization receive special matching dollars and grant incentives. Each gift of up to $100 to any of the participating non-profits will be MATCHED by the Patterson Foundation during the Giving Challenge.

Some of the agencies that we at Emmanuel support that are part of this Giving Challenge are:

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Suncoast
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties
  • Family Promise of South Sarasota County
  • Habitat for Humanity, South Sarasota County
  • Loveland Center
  • Pregnancy Solutions
  • South County Food Pantry
  • The Twig
  • Venice Area Mobile Meals
  • The Warehouse of Venice
  • Venice Area Beautification Inc.

Edna Froehlich is

100 years young!

Blessings on this

great celebration!!

During the restoration of our sanctuary, the prayer shawls will be on a counter in Fellowship Hall. Patterns are also available for you knitters out there!

Our quilters are in need clean, used sheets. Please put them in the round bin located at the back of Fellowship Hall.

Barb's Medical Minute

Are you being lazy, or is it physically harder to sit down and stand back up or walk? In a 15-year study which tested how long it took to rise from a chair, walk 10 feet, turn around, and sit back down, (also called timed-up-and-go test (TUG) and grip strength, those who lost strength and slowed down with age were at a greater risk of dementia. So how do we slow this slowing down with age and losing strength? The usual, same old fix for almost everything. Healthy diet (sigh), and active lifestyle (groan). Doesn’t eating sweets and sitting on your butt reading or watching TV help something??

Please keep the following people in your prayers:

  • Caroline Giambattista
  • Trinity Hendricks (Linda Critchfield's granddaughter)
  • Linda Hess
  • Pam McNamee
  • Pat Ross
  • LaDonna Whetzel

Safe travels for our winter residents as they return to the frigid north!

See you next season.
