Good News Family & Friends,

Be sure to join us and invite friends for Christmas Hymns & Hops THIS Sunday, Dec. 11 (5pm - 7pm) at Monkey Wrench Brewing! Big Butts BBQ food truck starts serving at 4pm. Click link above or see below for details. It's going to be such a fun evening. You don't want to miss it!

Secondly, this past week I was reflecting on (and was blown away by) the many ways that you and this baby church have been expressing faith through love (per our vision verse from Galatians 5:6b, "The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love."). It reminded me of one of the Bible in One Year devotional readings a few weeks ago that cast vision for being a Blessing Machine. I love that! As I think about your incredible generosity to give and hearts to serve, there's no doubt that you have been a blessing machine this past year.

In addition to supporting the work, financial, and volunteer needs of Good News Church GA, your generosity has enabled our church to give away more than $25,000 in support to our local non-profit partners and to help cover the costs of many needs in our community (i.e., assisting Afghan refugees, providing Thanksgiving meals for families in need, providing Bibles for elementary school children, supporting Lanier Middle and High Schools, after-school tutoring, after-school Good News Club, and much more).

As we move towards the end of this year, we want you to be aware of a few more great opportunities to give and serve. So, take a look at the important announcements below and continue to express faith through love by being a blessing machine!

CHRISTMAS INSPIRATION

Quote of the Week

"Truly He taught us to love one another. His law is love and His gospel is peace." - John Sullivan Dwight (from the Christmas carol, "O Holy Night," written in 1843)

Verse of the Week

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. - 1 John 4:7-12

VISION & VALUES

The vision of Good News Church GA is "to experience and express LOVE from God to others." The verse that undergirds our vision is Galatians 5:5b, “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” We value people, community, relationships, prayer, and Bible reading. We also value being able to be yourself. We’re all struggling with something, so there’s no need to pretend that we have it all together.

MISSION

The mission of Good News Church GA is "to connect with people and build relationships through community workshops, neighborhood-focused ministry, serving local needs, mentoring, and worship."
