Welcome to the October 2022 ISBNPA Implementation and Scale SIG newsletter.

My name is Nicole Nathan and I am a Research Fellow at The University of Newcastle, Australia and Program Manager with Hunter New England Population Health.

I have taken over as Chair of our SIG from A/Prof Taren Swindle, our amazing leader for the past three years. Taren Chaired our SIG during an incredibly difficult time for everyone personally and professionally and did so with purpose and kindness. Despite the challenges that COVID presented, particularly as people became weary of virtual meetings/conferences, Taren was able to keep our members engaged with our SIG activities both online and back in person in Phoenix this year. Taren’s passion and energy for research in our field and her fun, approachable and genuine interest in people has been integral to the success of our SIG. On behalf of our Executive I would like to sincerely thank Taren for her leadership of our SIG and for her time, advice and support for us (me in particular) as we transition in our new roles.

Below is our Executive and their roles. I look forward to working with them and our SIG members in the coming years. We will soon be calling for new members so if you would like to help shape our SIG we would love to hear from you.

Important Dates

The 2023 ISBNPA Annual Meeting will be held in Uppsala, Sweden from the 14-17th June. We would love to have a big Implementation Science, Translation, Scale-up and Sustainability presence. Some key dates to note:
·      October 21, 2022: Pre-conference workshop submission close
·      October 28, 2022: Symposia submission close (notification November 30, 2022)
·      December 7, 2022: Dare2Share submission close
·      December 7, 2022: Regular Abstracts submission close (notification February 27, 2023)
·      March 8, 2023: Late breaking abstracts close (notification on March 15, 2023)
