Your Giving Truly Matters!

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give

Many people divide their monthly income into three piles. First bills and money needed for living expenses, followed by saving while the giving/tithing is given from any funds that remain. Throughout this year’s stewardship campaign, we have asked that you give from your first financial “fruits”, before saving or paying bills and monthly expenses.  This intentional, regular giving teaches us to be generous and keep God first in our lives. Generous people make better friends, wives, husbands, relatives, employers, and employees.

For those who have submitted a tithing pledge, thank you for your generous gifts. There is still time before the end of the year for those that have not yet submitted a pledge. Tithing is part of our life-long journey in giving back to God a portion of what He has generously given to us as stewards. Thank you for being generous partners in God’s mission and ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Libertyville.

Advent Faith Formation: Preparing for Christmas

Tuesdays: December 6, December 13 and December 20

6:30 PM-7:30 PM, Social Hall

As we prepare for Christmas, join the First Pres Adult Faith Formation Committee on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM. The scripture and lessons for our Tuesday meetings are taken from the Follow Me booklet “Go Tell” and are the focus for the upcoming Sunday’s sermons. Gaining insight into these Advent scriptures though the Follow Me materials and group discussions prior to hearing the Sunday sermon will enhance and expand your ability to “hear the good news of Advent”.

Childcare is provided, and a soup meal will be shared. We ask that you register to assist us in ordering the soup and planning for childcare providers.

No preparation is required prior to the weekly meetings, and you can drop in for one, two, three or all four meetings. All are welcome. Please join us this Advent as we prepare for Christmas.
