A Trip to Washington D.C. for WDSD

DSC staff, board members, and families were invited to a VIP tour of the White House in honor of World Down Syndrome Day! Many also attended the NDSS Advocacy Conference in which 300 advocates from across the country were on Capitol Hill telling their stories and advocating for legislative change important to our community.

The DSC Advocacy Board Presents at the Governor's Mansion

Last Thursday, the DSC Advocacy Board was honored at the Governor's Mansion in Olympia, WA. They were joined by DSC Staff, Board members, and DSC families. They were invited to give a presentation on the Barriers to Work and Job Coaching, asking our state legislators to better utilize available federal resources in job coaching and directly support professional wages for people with Ds.

Thank you to our Advocacy Board for the important work they do and for an amazing presentation.
