Job Description:


The External Communications Manager works as part of the Mars Wrigley Global Corporate Affairs team and plays a key role in helping the function execute external communications. The position reports to the Global Director of External Communications and will work across the CA function including staffing the press office; delivering corporate media relations and Brand PR, with an emphasis on earned media, content creation social media; issues & crisis management and PR/Corporate reputation management.

What will be your key responsibilities?


  • Press Office: Staffing the Mars Wrigley Global Press Office handling media enquiries in a timely manner
  • Brand PR: Working closely with Market Corporate Affairs teams to drive earned media through strategic advice, creative ideas and delivery of Brand Communications in support of our brands, product launches and campaigns
  • Corporate PR: Strategic development and delivery of proactive external communications aligned with business strategy and Global priorities across traditional, digital and social media
  • Content Creation: The development and production of quality content, including video, that enhances our corporate storytelling
  • Media Management: Engaging with key journalist, media and influencers as needed in support of segment, corporate and brand reputation goals
  • Agency Management: to support strategic direction and smooth running of day-to-day partnership and engagement
  • Strategic Counsel: Advising and guiding the business regarding external/internal threats and opportunities and helping create strategies to protect, enhance and/or accelerate business objectives

The HAROLD Internship Program is a 10-week, paid summer internship from June through August connected to one of our U.S. BCW offices. You’ll work across our hybrid agency environment with team members and leadership to gain experience in integrated communications across media relations, brand and corporate reputation, public affairs, healthcare, technology, digital integration, creative, strategy, research and grassroots. Positions with our North America headquarters team, where you will learn the ins and outs of managing the agency business with our new business development, marketing communications, DEI and brand experience teams, are available as well.
