In the Spotlight
The City of Helena Open Lands division has started winter prescribed burning, which is part of its fuels mitigation program. The prescribed burning activity will include ignition of hand piled forest fuels that have accumulated from the City’s forest thinning efforts since 2016.

The Open Lands team will periodically burn slash piles through mid-April, as air quality and weather allow.

Cross Country Skiing
The Last Chance Nordic Ski Club, in partnership with the City of Helena's Parks and Recreation Department, grooms skate and classic track around the perimeter of Bill Roberts Golf
Course. Skiing is free and all levels are welcome. Snowshoeing and walking on foot is also encouraged, but those individuals are asked to please avoid the groomed trails.

Keep your game sharp during the off-season! Muni's Sports Grille at Bill Roberts Golf
Course is proud to provide the Helena community three state-of-the-art golf simulators. Reservations are available by the hour or join the Winter Simulator League or Beginner 3-Person Scramble League. For

Free Ice Skating
Looking for additional ice skating opportunities beyond Memorial Park? Outdoor skating is also available at Cunningham Park and Lincoln Park. These
ice rinks are free to use and unattended. The rinks are open from dawn to dusk. Skaters
must supply their own gear. Please stay off the ice while it is freezing.
