Dear Neighbor:
Our contractor finished felling trees at the College Hill site last week. They have left for a different job and will return the week of April 15 to finish hauling wood.
The excavator damaged some areas of the grass around the reservoir. EWEB will restore the slope and protect it from erosion after all tree work is complete.
The reservoir will remain open until a few weeks before demolition, which will likely take place in late spring/early summer. As a reminder, we removed the trees ahead of the other work to avoid impacting nesting birds.
Wood donation
The small diameter trees and branches were converted to wood chips and donated to the Amazon Community Garden and Matthews Community Garden. We are working with local businesses to have the remainder of the wood stay in the community and be used for other projects.
Pre-bid meeting
EWEB will hold a pre-bid meeting on the College Hill site on Friday, April 5 at 10 a.m. During the meeting, potential bidders for the demolition and earthwork contract will tour the site and ask questions. Neighbors can expect to see extra trucks parked near the reservoir at this time.
Historic Mitigation questionnaire
Reminder: The Historic Mitigation process is separate from the landscaping plan. We are collecting comments on landscaping and will develop options for public feedback later in the project.
