One of the SYBA values is "Do More Together." This certainly describes the Fair Ministry we sponsor at the Iredell County fairgrounds. The traveling fair workers are the ones we focus on during the days they are in our area as we serve together, sharing His Message with our words, deeds and actions. They love coming here, knowing they will be treated with love and respect while enjoying meals with our SYBA volunteers and receiving additional gifts of well-filled hygiene bags, laundry supplies and hair cuts. All provided at no cost to them.

Many of the fair workers are Christians too, but love being able to be with other Believers who encourage them to be bold in sharing His Message wherever they are. The truth is — they encourage us with their stories of how God protects them and gives them opportunities to be a witness for Him. It seems they know the value of "Do More Together" too!

Last year we served 816 meals and had close to 226 volunteers serving with the Fair Ministry. We also gave out 50 laundry supply bags with a roll of quarters, 43 men's hygiene bags, 19 hygiene bags to ladies, and 14 free hair cuts. We anticipate similar numbers this year.

2024 Fair Ministry: Wednesday, August 28th—Saturday, September 7th

Delicious meals, along with yummy homemade desserts and plenty of Southern sweet tea will be served at 12:30 daily with the exception of August 28th and 29th (6:30 pm). We also will need lots of hygiene items and laundry supplies for sharing His love in a very practical way.

Front Street Baptist Church is seeking a godly, qualified man who has a passion for preaching, ministering and fulfilling the Great Commission. He will be responsible for the pulpit ministry and assist the other elders in shepherding God’s flock and leading in the Vision of the church. South River Baptist Church is searching for a Church Ministry Assistant with a winsome spirit to provide general clerical support for the staff and elements of the church. This part time position (20 to 25 hours per week) is for someone who is detail oriented, able to work independently, and can maintain confidentiality.
