Eighth Edition
POMEGRANATES CONNECTION
The ‘Pomegranates Connection’ project was funded by Arts Queensland aimed at showcasing the works and voices of eight GCMAGIC visual artist members from non-English speaking backgrounds. The outcome of the project included eight short videos by Jeff Licence of Tigermonkey Productions, and two weeks of art exhibitions in November 2022 at the Robina Art Gallery.
VOICES OF WOMEN
‘Voices of Women’, the launch event of the videography project, was held at the Queensland Parliament House on 16 November. We were privileged to have the Honourable Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, Hon. John Paul Langbroek, Shadow Minister for Seniors, Communities & Disability Services and Multiculturalism, representatives from States and Federal governments, GCMAGIC artists, and the President and members of Sunnybank Chamber of Commerce. Thanks to Freya Ostapovitch, the President of Sunnybank Chamber of Commerce, for hosting the venue.

The screening of the eight short documentaries by Jeff Licence, and live performances by Samira El Koussa, Solange Lipcin and Zohreh Shirkhodai, were held at the launch event.
