Ally Layman, City of Huntington Councilwoman and President of Huntington Pride, shared her story with attendees, the mission and history of Huntington Pride, the City's Open to All initiative, and upcoming events during Huntington Young Professional's March meeting.
As a proud lifelong resident of Huntington, Ally holds an Allied Health degree from MCTC. Ally currently serves as a member of the City of Huntington's City Council and on Mayor Williams' LGBTQIA+ and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion advisory committees. Additionally, she serves as LGBTQIA+ Health Coordinator for WHC of WV and spearheads initiatives for healthcare accessibility.

2024 Finals for the WV Innovation + Business Model Competition at Marshall University 💼 | |

On Tues., April 9, at 6 p.m. in Encova Auditorium of the Smith Center for Business & Innovation, the Sixth Installment of the WV Innovation + Business Model Competition (WVIBMC) will get underway. Approximately eight (8) teams will compete for a top prize estimated at $3,000.00. The teams will pitch their concepts to a panel of judges including Mary Hott (WV SBDC), Kaylin Jorge (WV Chamber), Kathy Smith (WV Chamber), and Bill Woodrum (Benedum).
A light dinner will be served at 5p in the Smith Center (SBUS 113). At 6p, the action will move to the Encova Auditorium (SBUS 116) with the first pitch anticipated to start at 6:15p.
To assist with an accurate count for dinner service, it is preferred attendees register at the event notice below.
The Finals of the WVIBMC is a no-cost (free) event. The public is invited and encouraged to attend this always interesting event and watch MU students compete against other WV institutions for prize awards.
