Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that
values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,
you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!
CHPDS' Christmas Pageant!
One of the most meaningful ministries of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is what happens throughout the week within Colonial Heights Presbyterian Day School. Monday through Friday, children from six weeks to six years old are cared for throughout our facilities as they learn what it means to be loved as a child of God. I have a great appreciation for the impact this ministry makes, not just as your pastor, but also as a parent of two little ones. High quality childcare is an important need within our greater community and the ministry of CHPDS is incredible: the children are a joy, the staff is outstanding, and Lisa Robinette does a phenomenal job leading it all. Certainly, CHPC is blessed by God to help offer such an invaluable ministry to these children and their families!

The season of Advent is all about joyfully preparing ourselves to welcome a child, one who illuminates hope, brings about peace, and embodies the love of God. This year, our day school will be hosting their Christmas Pageant and it is my joy to invite the entire congregation to attend! All are welcome to come out on Thursday, December 8 at 6pm to give thanks to our Lord for these children, their families, and the entire staff of CHPDS. This will be the first time in the past few years that the day school has been able to participate in this pageant and it is my prayer that we can show our support for this important ministry. Praise be to God for the coming of the Christ-child this Christmas, and praise be to God for the privilege of caring for these children surrounding us every day!

Gratefully,
- David

Upcoming Special Services
Angel Tree
The Angel tree is conveniently located in the Narthex for anyone interested in supporting this regular mission of our church family. This year, we are partnering again with “SMILE“, (Foster Closet of Northeast, Tennessee) to make a foster child’s Christmas an extra special one!

Please feel free to choose an angel or two to support. There are also special white cards to restock “SMILE's” inventory. Our goal this year is to provide gifts ranging from $75 to $100 for each angel. The gifts do not need to be wrapped, since we are providing the large gift bags. Place the gifts under the Angel tree no later than Friday, December 9 at noon. If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Mahon directly.

Please contact Alda Smith if you would like to know more about this event or participating within this meaningful ministry.

The Youth Group will be going to Bristol Motor Speedway in Lights this Sunday night! Please meet at the church at 5:30pm, we will take the van and we'll be back to the church at 8:30pm. The church will cover the cost of admission and dinner, but please bring your own money if you'd like to get something in the Christmas Village.

The planned new member class will be rescheduled for January, 2023. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone to learn more about the ministry of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church. Please let David know if you wish to attend. A date will be set based upon the group's schedule.

Thank you to all who ordered poinsettias as part of the CHPC Christmas Memorial Gifts program. All names will be printed in the bulletin on Sunday, December 18 and any poinsettias may be picked up after the Christmas Eve service. Monetary contributions may still be offered through December 12 and will go to the church's renovation fund.

As 2022 comes to an end, we continue to prepare for Christ's coming by generously giving of our tithes and offerings. Thank you for your continued support of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church and for the ministry you help to make possible. Please make sure any final contributions are postmarked by December 31 to be included in this year's final giving statement. If you have any questions about your giving or would like to complete your pledge for 2022, please contact Sarah Johnson at finance@chpres.org or by calling the office.
