2022 has been a successful year for Dunk & Associates. As the year winds to a close, we like to sit back and take the time to think and reflect on all of the items we have been able to deliver, and all of the achievements we’ve had throughout the year. Nancy's Retirement
We are both delighted and disheartened to announce that Nancy Dunk, our former President, has retired from Dunk & Associates effective December 1. In December 2020, Nancy sold Dunk & Associates to myself (Nancy’s son) who many of you have known for years. Over the past two years, Nancy has slowly transitioned to an advisory role to prepare for her retirement.

Employers should take the following steps to protect workers from cold stress:
• Schedule maintenance and repair jobs in cold areas for warmer months.
• Schedule cold jobs for the warmer part of the day.
• Reduce the physical demands of workers.
Recent Important Legislation Updates
It's been a busy year with lots of changes. In 2022, we will be providing monthly legislation updates (if any) as part of our regular newsletter to help keep our clients better informed about what is going on. As always, Dunk & Associates will continue to monitor and implement changes in our training and programs to ensure you are always kept up to date. 2023 Newsletters

Starting in January, we are changing the format of our monthly newsletters. Because we are currently sending three newsletters per month, in the new year, we will be merging them into one single newsletter. This will make it easier to keep on top of all the changes and important updates across all our programs and services. Please take this opportunity to inform us of any updates in contact information or if there are any others that should be receiving our emails who are not; this is our #1 way to communicate with you. In addition to sharing articles, in our newsletters we inform you of any legislative updates across Canada, keep you updated on any scheduled outages, and let you know when we have made an update to a feature, etc. If you miss or forget to read a newsletter, we also post them here: https://www.systems24-7.com/monthly-newsletter 
Your December Compliance Package is now posted.
If you are enrolled in the compliance package program, your package will be posted. Login to your site to access your package under the compliance packages feature. All assignments must be completed to keep your Health & Safety Program in compliance.
New Course: MSD & Me: Coming Soon! 

This new course is designed to replace Back Care (health care and retail), ergonomics, and Musculoskeletal Disorders (workers and managers). This course has 6 modules that include video, animation, and activities to keep learning engaging. We want to provide you with time to communicate - in January, Dunk & Associates will be removing the old courses from your training profile and replacing them with the new MSD & Me course. Employees will receive this new course as incomplete training. This is because MSDs continue to be the highest-rated hazard in the workplace, so taking this new and updated training will assist in reducing the risks. 

For those who wish, Dunk & Associates can copy scores from the old courses to some of the new modules in MSD & Me, as some are equivalent. This is not recommended but can be handled by specific request. If you wish to opt out of receiving the new course, please note that the old courses will be discontinued and will no longer be supported. To request that scores be copied, request to keep the old courses, or for more information please email support@systems24-7.com prior to January 1st. 
Respect in the Workplace:
To be Assigned Tuesday, January 3rd.

Respect can be defined as consideration for self and of others. Respect in the workplace is important as it leads to better employee morale, increased productivity, and a better working environment. 

For all our HR professional service clients, Dunk & Associates will be assigning "Respect in the Workplace" to your mandatory training on January 3rd. The course reviews practices of respect, respect in the workplace, respectful communication, and disrespect in the workplace. If any other client wishes to use this, access to any course is included with Systems 24-7! If you have any questions, please email support@systems24-7.com.
You're invited to participate in the WSIB Health & Safety Excellence program (HSEp)!
If the HSEp is new to you, let us explain how the program works and how it can help you! HSEp is offered to all employers (large and small) by the WSIB in the province of Ontario. HSEp has been around since 2020 and provides employers with the opportunity to develop and implement various health and safety topics in the workplace to build on your Health & Safety Program and achieve a safety-focused culture in your workplace. There are both financial rewards (rebates) to assist with the costs of implementing the program and non-financial rewards (program recognition and badges) that can be earned for the successful completion of your topics. These badges can be used to demonstrate your workplace’s commitment to health and safety and can be included in email signatures, printed on business vehicles, added to your brochures, and any other application you can imagine. 
By registering in HSEp, you will be covered in the HSEp for 12 months from your registration date. HSEp does not operate on a calendar year schedule, instead it is based on rolling enrollment. You decide when you start.

For those businesses with 1-99 employees, WSIB has extended the Small Business HSEp initiative (a more streamlined HSEp for small businesses) to help small businesses who are struggling to implement health and safety, have no health and safety, or are looking for financial relief due to the pandemic. WSIB will fund small businesses, $1000 to offset the cost to participate with an approved provider, in addition, your firm can receive a minimum of $1000 per topic (up to 100% of your premium) in rebate. Then that amount is doubled if you finish the program in 2023. WOW!!! For our small business HSEp members, we offer an exclusive, pre-scripted program to make it simple and achievable.
