Zoning!
  • The zoning commission hearings for 1617U have concluded. The final hearing took place on March 18th and can be viewed here. DCCA has submitted our concluding arguments, which can be read here.

  • In a second zoning matter (Case 22-25) the Zoning Commission is considering a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (“NOPR”) which makes amendments to the operating rules of the Office of Zoning, the Zoning Commission and the Board of Zoning Adjustment. While making some useful changes, many organizations, including DCCA, Empower DC, the OAG Equitable Land Use Section, and the Committee of 100 on the Federal City, think that these amendments make it harder for the public to participate in the zoning process while vesting additional discretion in zoning bodies, the Office of Planning, and applicants and petitioners. The NOPR also misses an opportunity to codify the Racial Equity Analysis Tool. DCCA's submitted comments can be viewed here.
