Spring is Here!

With the arrival of spring comes yard cleanup time.

The brush, leaf and yard waste drop off area is open on Wednesdays from 7:30 am until 3:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.

The drop off site is located at the Service Department garage, located at 558 Fairport Nursery Road.

As a reminder, this service is available to Painesville Township residents only, and contractors are not permitted.

Curbside Brush Collection

The annual curbside brush collection will begin Monday, June 5 at 7:30 am. Our crews will pick up bundled brush placed at the curb ONE TIME ONLY during this collection event.

NO LEAVES, YARD WASTE or PAPER BAGS will be picked up.

Collection will continue until all roads have been completed.

Open Burning

Another activity that comes with spring is outdoor fires.

Only cooking fires and small recreational fires are allowed without a permit in the Township.

Please be courteous to your neighbors and monitor the smoke conditions resulting from your fire. Fires should only contain clean, dry and seasoned firewood, and be no larger than than 3 feet in diameter and 3 feet tall.

As a reminder, fires may not be used for waste disposal, plant matter and tree trimmings. Please use the free yard waste drop off service located at the Service Garage to dispose of your yard waste.

If you see a fire that is not compliant with the rules and regulations with Painesville Township, please call 9-1-1. Your local fire department will respond and will properly document unauthorized activity.

Changes coming to

Painesville Township Park

A new park layout is planned to make Painesville Township Park a pedestrian-friendly, multi-activity destination.

The design removes the drive in front of the Community Center and creates a larger parking area behind the building.

Pedestrian walkways, Lake Erie viewing areas, picnic space, a playground, patio space, and open areas for gathering will allow visitors to enjoy the beautiful location.

Phase one of park construction began earlier this year.

Also within the next year, it is anticipated that a new section of trail along the Lake Erie shoreline will be open to the public adjacent to Painesville Township Park.

Lake Metroparks expects to begin construction on 2,300 feet of multi-use path extending west from Painesville Township Park this year.
