To reiterate what's stated in the image above, no FUUSN staff member will ever ask you to purchase gift cards for them. We are perfectly capable of doing this ourselves. In this case, it's even more obviously fake as Rev. Parisa no longer works here. Some other giveaways:
1. The sender's email address, "myemailpersonalformeonly@gmail.com" is obviously not Parisa's email address. Always check the sender's email address against the email addresses you know and trust. You can always forward the email to the address you know or give that person a call to ask for confirmation.
2. The subject, "Urgent Request," is vague and designed to get you to open the email.
3. There are several obvious inconsistencies. We don't usually refer to FUUSN as a capital-C Church, we have no "Church drives" going on right now, and the sender does not mention the diligent staff by name.
4. Requesting that this be kept Confidential and not told to staff is designed to keep you from checking whether this is a legitimate request. If you are ever in doubt, ASK A STAFF MEMBER.
5. Finally, you should NEVER, EVER send someone photos of gift cards in email or on the Internet. That is a SURE SIGN of a scam. No one does this, ever. Scammers prefer this because it renders the money untraceable.
If you receive an email like this, please forward it on to Jenise immediately. Please also report the email as phishing or a scam. Here's how: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/8253?hl=en.
