New Advent Study for Sunday Mornings

On Sunday mornings, November 27- December 18, we will be offering an Advent study on the book, Almost Christmas: A Wesleyan Advent Experience. In Almost Christmas, author and pastor Magrey deVega leads a group of authors in a study to encourage people to follow Christ wholeheartedly during Advent, connecting the Wesleyan heritage with traditional Advent themes of Love, Hope, Joy, and Peace. We hope you can join in on Sunday mornings at 9:45 am

Mom's Christmas Gathering December 3

The Christmas season can be a joyful and exciting time, but it can also be a stressful, expensive, and painful season for many as well. In the trenches of motherhood, many have experienced a year involving death of a loved one, strained family relationships, financial difficulties, and other hard parts of life. There often isn't a place for us to gather and talk about the not so shiny and joyful parts of the Christmas season without feeling like a 'Debbie Downer'. This gathering will be a time and place for us to share and support one another as we approach Christmas. A place to talk about the hard things while also laughing and spending time with friends that are also in the trenches of motherhood.

On Saturday, December 3, at 1:00 pm, we will have a potluck meal and a hot cocoa and dessert bar. We have even found a chocolate fountain, because melted chocolate makes everything better!

If you are a mom with children still living at home, we hope you can find space in your holiday calendar to join us for this special time together. RSVP by emailing Maegan Mitchell

Christmas Cantata December 10 and 11

Come and enjoy this year's cantata, Peace by Joel Raney, performed by our Bethlehem Chancel Choir. The cantata will be Saturday, December 10, at 7:00 pm, and also on Sunday during worship at both 8:30 and 11:00 am.

Music Appreciation Luncheon December 11

The United Women in Faith are hosting a Music Appreciation Luncheon for our Bethlehem musicians immediately following worship at 12:00 pm on Sunday, December 11. This annual event is one way we say THANK YOU to our choir and band for sharing their musical talents with us throughout the year.

Your help is welcome! If you are able to contribute a side salad, rolls, or a dessert, please email Lynda Imirie.

The Warming Shelter of Franklin County is a community outreach team effort led by the partnership of Lake Christian Ministries and Redwood UMC to serve people in our area that are experiencing homelessness. This year, the shelter opens on December 1 because of the cold weather. If you would like to help, refer to the website for information on volunteering (overnight or dinners) or providing needed consumable donations. If you have any questions or want to learn more, email Susan Hughes. Thanks for your support of this important ministry to those in great need!

"A Child's Christmas"

Volunteers are needed to help with "A Child's Christmas," the Christmas outreach program sponsored by Lake Christian Ministries and hosted by Bethlehem UMC that serves over 400 children in our community.

Help is needed for shopping (December 9), sorting (December 12-15), and distribution (December 17). Sign-ups will be in the Welcome Center on Sunday and after that on the bulletin board in the hall by the Women's bathroom. Come be part of the fun as the church transforms into Santa's Workshop for a week! Thank you to all in our community who are supporting this program in so many ways!
