Wow! It seems like only yesterday that I was starting this journey. Now, as I wind down my time as your president, I’m excited by all we’ve accomplished during the last two years. In March 2022, we hosted our first in-person conference since the pandemic and were grappling with health care provider exhaustion and burn out. Today, we may still be tired, but there is much more focus on caring for our own well-being, something we must do if we’re going to be the best providers for our patients. As we continue to take care of ourselves, As we continue to take care of ourselves, we also have a lot to celebrate – VCNP’s 50th anniversary, our recent legislative success with HB 971 and an active association membership.

I’ve been honored to serve as your president and to represent VCNP across the commonwealth. I’ve learned and grown so much and am truly appreciative of the awesome team that supported me throughout my term. It’s been a strengthening and empowering time, and I’m humbled and thankful for your trust and encouragement. Best of luck to our incoming board of directors including our new president, Dr. Alysia Pack. I hope to celebrate with many of you in Williamsburg this week!

Celebrate your well being

Health Workforce Well-Being Day of Awareness will be observed on March 18. The day of observance was selected to coincide with the day that the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Act was signed into law in 2022.

“Acknowledging the pressures health workers face and making their well-being a priority is essential – and our solutions must move far beyond individual resilience,” said Corey Feist, co-founder and CEO of the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation.
