Breaking Ground at New Site
The Peoria County ROE 48 was excited to be a part of the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Peoria County's Health and Human Services Campus coming late 2024. ROE 48 offices will join the Peoria City/County Health Department and Peoria County Coroner Office once construction is completed.
New Service Available for Early Childhood
ROE 48 is adding a new service for early childhood. We have been awarded a prenatal to age 3 home visiting program from the Illinois State Board of Education.

This program will provide child development and family support services for expectant parents and families with children from birth to age 3 to help them build a strong foundation for learning and to prepare children for later school success. Families that enroll in this program will automatically qualify for our preschool program when their child turns age 3.

This new program will serve families in the city of Peoria. We are currently looking for qualified staff to help support this program. Applicants should have a bachelor's degree, but those with an associate degree and the right experience will also be considered.

ROE 48 is also beginning to recruit families to join this new and exciting program. Both interested job applicants and families wishing to enroll should contact Anna Hansard at ahansard@peoriaroe.org.

Illinois State University was one of the first established training programs in the nation with a specialization in Special Education Low Vision and Blindness. Our faculty include leaders in the field with
practical classroom experience.
The Western Illinois University Department of Mathematics and Philosophy has received approval for its new master's program from the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE).

The Master of Science in Teaching Mathematics (MSTM) degree is designed for current teachers of secondary mathematics. Courses will all be offered in an online format.

This innovative program will give teachers an opportunity to earn a master's degree in mathematics to teach dual credit and college-level courses. Some of the courses for this program have already been offered online and were successfully completed by area teachers.
