Wishing you a Safe and Healthy Holiday Season!

The year is quickly coming to a close and we have had yet another year full of significant accomplishments and continued success in providing essential water and power to Los

Angeles. Among our many achievements, our Board of Water and Power Commissioners recently adopted a motion authored by Board President Cynthia McClain-Hill, approving LADWP to stop water and electric shutoffs as a debt collection tool. With the holidays upon us, this couldn’t have come at a better time.

Under the new motion, those enrolled in our EZ-SAVE program–which offers income-qualified residential customers with a discount to help reduce the cost of electricity, water, and sewer service– as well as those enrolled in the Senior Citizen Lifeline Discount Program, will be eligible for shutoff protection. The motion also prohibits shutoffs for all customers during extreme weather events, such as extreme heat episodes that can harm public health, safety, and welfare.

If you haven’t already, take a moment to look into the many rebates and programs we have to offer to help you save. We are here to help.

From everyone at LADWP, we wish you a safe and healthy holiday season!

Power System Culminates

Year-Long 2022 Power Plan

LADWP's Power System recently reported the findings of the 2022 Power Strategic Long-Term Resource Plan (2022 SLTRP) to the Board of Water and Power Commissioners. The team presented the recommended case, which identifies the path forward to achieve the City’s aggressive decarbonization goal of 100 percent clean energy by 2035—a decade ahead of the state’s legislated deadline.

The 2022 Power Plan is a roadmap for our power future guided by the core principles and key considerations of environmental benefits and equity, reliability and resiliency, and affordability and rate impacts.
