Senior Community Connections would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to Storyhill Church in Davidson for including two of our members on their 2023 Serve Day. Two SCC members received a day of lawn services from church attendees, including cleaning, planting, spreading multch, and much much more. We are grateful for a community that helps take care of our seniors!

Music At St Alban's



SCC members enjoyed free tickets to the North Carolina Baroque Orchestra as part of the Music at St. Alban's series. Mark your calendars for the Charlotte Master Chorale on Sunday May 21st at 3pm and Andrea Mumm (Charlotte Sympony Orchestra Harpist) on Sunday June 11 at 3pm. Limited free tickets available. Beware: Scammers Using a New Strategy


The Charlotte Observer recently posted an article about a new scam people need to watch out for. Scammers are posing as law enforcement to target residents of Charlotte. They use victims' real names and addresses when they make contact, and make them think that they have a hefty fine for missing jury duty. This scam is one of many used to manipulate people into sending money, often by use of scare tactics. Help stop scammers by spreading the word to your loved ones and reporting suspicious activity

Let us know if you need a ride. We have volunteers ready to help you. Each event has a deadline to RSVP. Hope you will come and enjoy yourselves and make some new friends.



Lunch at Fusion Bowl - May 5- 11:30-1:00pm 19905 W Catawba Ave, Cornelius NC (in Johnsbury Square development) There is plenty of parking. Games and Trivia- May 17- 1-3pm , North Meck Rec. Center, 18121 Old Stateville Road, Cornelius, Classroom B this time- games, trivia and charades and snacks.----join us as we try to meet here on a monthly basis for some fun games. Cornelius Jazz Festival- May 20- 5 - 7 p.m. Smithville Park, 19710 South Ferry St, Cornelius, NC ( cancelled if it is raining of course.)

Join Cornelius Parks and Recreation and the Smithville CommUNITY Coalition for this year's event! It's sure to be a great evening filled with jazz, food trucks, tasty beverages, children's activities, local businesses and artists, and more!

Senior Community Connections Members and Volunteers will meet there at our tent at 5pm and to sit together during this event. 

Coolers and picnic baskets are allowed. NO pets, glass bottles or containers, tobacco products, smoking, e-cigs, tents, or open flames.

Don't forget to bring your chairs.

Partner Events


Charlotte Master Chorale- Sunday, May 21- Music at St. Alban’s presents the Charlotte Master Chorale on Sunday May 21 at 3pm, at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Davidson. Directed by Kenney Potter, these vocalists inspire unity by performing a diverse array of music. Arrive early to enjoy the pre-concert young artists performance at 2:20pm. The concert will be followed by a “meet the artist” reception. Tickets are available at the door or at www.musicatstalbansdavidson.org. $20/general admission; $15/seniors; children and students under 18/free. This project was made possible, in part, with funding from ASC. Wheelchair accessible. M@SA is a 501[c]3 non-profit organization.



Aging Wide Awake, Meditation Circle- Tuesdays- 10:15- 11:00am on Zoom. We live in a culture where most avoid any talk about aging unless it's about how to defy it. Our weekly meditation circle takes a different approach. We regard our older years as an opportunity to grow. Through exploration of ancient and contemporary wisdom writings and meaningful conversations, we nurture and deepen connections with one another. Curious? Join us! It is open and FREE.
