Dear Connect High Families,
It is hard to believe it is already March, but here we are in the first week of March. Robert and I apologize for having to cancel our Coffee with Admin this evening. However mark your calendars for our next one on April 8th at 5pm VIA ZOOM.
If you have not already done so, please take some time to read this letter regarding social media, its use and impact on our DV community.
As always, we thank you for trusting Connect HS with your students!!
Take care,
Tami and Robert
Student Led Conferences (SLCs)
Student-Led Conferences will begin next week March 11th. This gives families the opportunity to hear from their students how they are doing in their classes, see samples of their work and hear what their plans are for the rest of the semester.
Due to our revised schedule for SLC Week, students will be working asynchronously, there will be no on-campus classes.
On-campus classes and asynchronous support will resume the week of March 18th.
Grade UPDATES in PowerSchool
In addition to getting an update on your students' grades during SLCs, you can also check PowerSchool to see what their grades are. Teachers update grades in PowerSchool monthly, grades will be updated by this Friday (March 8th). The next grade update in PS will be on April 8th.
In order to support our students' success in class, we are making changes to their advisory period. If a student is not passing a class when grades are updated we are putting them in a targeted advisory class where they will have time to note the work they need to do, create a plan to do the work, as well as, have time to get the work done.
We started with our Seniors two weeks ago, shifted Junior advisory classes today March 4th and our Sophomore and Freshman advisory support will begin AFTER SLC week.

DV Connect is preparing to renew our WASC accreditation!!
What is WASC??
WASC is the accrediting commission of schools for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Why is WASC important?
WASC accreditation verifies that Connect provides students with, a viable educational program — in addition to, validating the integrity of the school’s program and transcripts. Please click WASC Overview to learn more.
The WASC Committee will not only visit our school sites and classrooms, but they will also spend time talking to ALL members of the Connect community.
