Storm Preparation is Key
2022 has already proven to be a banner year for powerful summer storms ... and hurricane season is kicking into gear. September is National Preparedness Month, and the remnants of Hurricane Ian could impact Virginia over the weekend. That makes now the perfect time to assemble or refresh the items in your Storm Preparedness Kit. Check out the list linked below of items REC recommends to include in your kit.
Help REC Invest in Your Community

Twice a year, donations from The Power of Change are made available to non-profit, charitable organizations that make a difference across our service territory. These funds are invested back into our communities, so we have a better place to live, work and play. To support these groups, you can round up your monthly bill to the next whole dollar, give a set monthly amount or make a one time donation.
Stay Back and Stay Safe
Summer storms can sometimes
bring down power lines in the road
or on your property. Never approach
a downed power line or attempt to
move it. Always assume a downed
power line is energized. Downed
lines can energize the ground and
nearby objects up to 35 feet away.
A Brighter Future

When our members asked for solutions that help save money and make our grid more resilient, we got to work in creating Vividly Brighter, REC’s new suite of energy innovations. From solar and charging to Affordable Energy Efficiency, we're making the future brighter.
REC's office lobbies are open by appointment or for walk-up visits from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. To schedule an appointment please visit myrec.coop/appointments
