Principal's Message

I hope everyone experienced a very enjoyable and relaxing spring break! It was great to see the students as they returned on Monday. The end of the school year is rapidly approaching and we have so many exciting events to look forward to as we conclude.

Looking ahead to next year, enrollment continues to increase! This is extremely positive, as we are able to bring our values, mission, and beliefs to more students! We will have new students at every grade level, and several of our grade levels are at capacity for next year already! We also have several tours and shadow visits scheduled over the next weeks!

As a result of this increased enrollment, we are expanding our kindergarten class to three sections for next year with a total of 62 students enrolled. We now are only accepting students onto a waitlist in kindergarten for next year. Due to the increase in class size in the primary area, we will be hiring two full-time instructional assistants to work with students in grades KDG-2.

Very excitingly, we will also be hiring a School Counselor for next school year! Over the past years, we have experienced a drastic increase in mental health and social/emotional needs. Having a dedicated staff member to assist students in these areas will create a more positive and productive climate and environment within our community. This position will be different from and in addition to the role we currently have with our School Psychologist, Matt Musselman. A formal job description is being finalized now, and we will begin the search process shortly.

Finally, please join me in thanking the amazing GA staff! We are celebrating teacher appreciation week throughout this week with several lunches and surprises from the PTA! We are incredibly blessed to have such an outstanding faculty who are deeply committed and dedicated to their profession. Each angel is very well cared for at GA due to the nurturing and caring faculty we have. Please join me in thanking our staff!

God bless,

Corey

GA’s CANabilities Program returning in April!

All April, students in grades Pre-K through 8th will participate in GA’s CANabilities Program!

Our CANabilities Program aims to educate, introduce and help our students to understand the importance of the inclusion of individuals in our community with cognitive and physical disabilities and helps our students to learn in a friendly way about disabilities.

The most important element of this program’s delivery is to invite individuals with a physical or cognitive disability from our community to our school to speak with our students.

The goal is to focus on the “Ability” rather than the “DISability”!  We are proud to be partnering with the Down Syndrome Association of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, the Cincinnati Hearing Speech and Deaf Center, Cincinnati ReelAbilitites Film Festival, McNicholas “Hands Across Campus Program”, Skoolaid, and many individuals guest speakers who have a cognitive or physical disability.

If you would like more information about this program please contact Dena Conover

Step Up Sunday

Please note that, due to space constraints and schedule conflicts, “Step-Up Sunday” has been moved to the weekend of May 20-21. The Faith Formation board apologizes for any confusion.

Are you interested in getting more involved at Guardian Angels? Do you feel called to do more to help the Church’s mission but can’t figure out where to start? Do you want to connect with fellow parishioners outside of Mass but aren’t sure how, when, or where to do it? Please join us in the Gathering Space immediately after the weekend Masses on May 20 and 21 for “Step-Up Sunday.” Representatives from several of GA’s parish service organizations (PSOs) will be on hand to tell you more about what their organization does and how you can be part of it. No commitments required—this is an informational event only and just a chance to meet fellow parishioners and to find a greater sense of belonging at Guardian Angels. See you there!

Click here to view the list. Please make sure to include your name and address with any donation so we can send you a thank you and tax receipt form. You can also use the wish list to get ideas-just let me know if you purchase elsewhere and I’ll take the item off the list.
  2. Donate lottery tickets in any amount.
  3. Do you have season tickets to local sports events? Can you spare a couple of tickets? We would love to offer tickets to the Reds, Bengals, FC Cincinnati, UC, XU, Ohio State, Notre Dame, UD, etc.
  4. Do you have an experience you can offer? Maybe a tour of your small business or you have a contact with someone at a restaurant, brewery, or factory?
  5. Send in a cash/check donation to the rectory. Please make your check out to Guardian Angels and mark your check as "Bid-N-Buy Donation."

Christian Service Program - Faith in Action

The purpose of the Christian Service Program is to enhance the religion curriculum at Guardian Angels Church. It is the duty of all Christians to reach out in service to those around them. Christ asks us to be His hands and feet on earth, keeping His mission of reaching out to those in need alive. The students will complete their service within the following settings: at home, the parish community/school and the community at-large. This outreach may be completed individually, with a partner, or in a group.

This program will focus more on the meaning of the actual service opportunities rather than completing a prescribed amount of time. You will choose activities for each component—service to your family, service to your school/parish and service to the poor and vulnerable in our community. There is no minimum requirement of hours to complete. Grades 1-3 are required to complete at least 2 activities for each component; grades 4-8 at least 3 for each. You are certainly encouraged to complete more! See your Religion teacher, Mrs. Froehlich, or the parish website for a list of suggested activities and the log sheet.
