Dear Fourth Church,

Good morning. This month offers a special opportunity for our church body to come together and serve our neighbors in need: Saturday, October 15, is Mission DMV's Serve Day, when we'll work in teams with our local mission partners Central Union Mission, Samaritan Inns, Camp Bennett, and Rockville Women's Center. See below to choose your mission and register.

The following day, October 16, Dr. Robert Norris will share an update on the seminary in South Sudan. At the conclusion of the 11:00 a.m. service, stay for light refreshments and hear what God is doing at the seminary after 20 years of planning and prayer to enable classes to begin in January.

UPCOMING EVENTS

  • Men's Conference and Brunch: Saturday, November 12, 8:30-11:30 a.m. Dr. Todd M. Smedley will speak on "The Wisdom of the Ages for Living in a Warped Age; Studies in Proverbs 8-9." Cost is $15. Registration is open now through November 6.

  • Drive-Through Collection and Food Drive: This Saturday, October 8, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Upper Portico. Bring contributions of food, diapers, household items, and clothing (especially socks, underwear, shoes, and boots), preferably in brown paper bags with handles. Donated items go to ministry partners and neighbors in need. Further details can be found on the monthly collection webpage.

  • Thanksgiving Bags: If you know someone to nominate for receiving one of our annual Thanksgiving bags containing food cards and seasonal gifts, please fill out a nomination form before November 2. Nominees are those we know at church, at work, in our community, or in our children's schools who might benefit from this blessing, to show them the love of Christ during the Thanksgiving season.

  • High School: This weekend's events for high schoolers include Friday night's Overtime from 8:00-10:00 p.m. and Sunday Night Live at 7:30 p.m. Please contact Jesse or Genna for details.

Grace to you,

Don Nalle
