The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends exclusive breastfeeding for approximately six months after birth. Furthermore, the AAP supports continued breastfeeding, along with appropriate complementary foods introduced at about 6 months, as long as mutually desired by mother and child for two years or beyond. This recommendation is consistent with the World Health Organization (WHO) and that of many other countries.

Assembly Bill 469, signed by Governor Newsom in October 2021 makes it a requirement for every graduating senior in California to submit an application for college financial aid or take steps to opt out beginning in the 2022-23 school year. Grants and low-interest loans have long been available at the federal and state levels as a way to make college more accessible and affordable. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the main form that most students will use to apply for college financial aid.
