Saturday, May 4 Mass Will
Not Occur, So Our Parish
Can Attend BEHOLD KC
| |
Please remember that our May 4th, 4 pm in-person and live-stream Mass will not occur, so parishioners can attend the BEHOLD KC Eucharistic Celebration event on the North Lawn of the National World War 1 Memorial in Kansas City, MO. This is in accordance with Bishop Johnston’s recent decree that all parishes (in Jackson, Clay, and Platte counties) cancel their Saturday evening Mass to allow the faithful to attend this historic Celebration. View the event website.
The Saint Charles May 5 Sunday will occur at the regular times
(8:30 and 11 a.m.). This week’s live stream will also be available on
Sunday at 11 a.m. on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.
BEHOLD KC is the largest Eucharistic Celebration in Kansas City in over 80 years. The Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph and the Archdiocese of Kansas City are co-hosting BEHOLD. View the event flyer and schedule.
This free event will be held on the North Lawn (facing Union Station) of the National World War I Memorial (2 Memorial Dr, Kansas City, MO 64108) from 4 to 9:30 p.m. BEHOLD will feature praise and worship, nationally recognized live musical talent, local musicians, speakers, Reconciliation, The Rosary, Mass, and Eucharistic Adoration. Advanced registration is strongly recommended to receive event updates and special announcements. View the website to learn more.
Food trucks will be onsite for your convenience. Attendees may also bring their own food, water, or other non-alcoholic beverages. Coolers, picnic baskets, and tote bags are allowed. Tents, tables, grills, and alcohol are not allowed. Accessible seating will be limited, so please feel free to bring your camp chairs, blankets, and other portable outdoor seats. Pets are not allowed. All bags and persons may be subject to a security screening. #beholdkc

SCB Mental Wellness Update | |
Did you know?
Saint Charles Borromeo has been developing a Mental Health Ministry for the past year and a half.
Your ministry team provides education sessions quarterly.
We will soon be offering a small group meeting monthly for those wanting spiritual support for their mental health illness. “This is not group therapy but a ministry in which members support others during their time of need and grow spiritually in their relationship with God. One does not need to be Catholic to participate, but Catholic prayers and devotions will be used.”
988 is a three-digit number that offers 24/7 and statewide access to crisis services via call, text, or chat. Trained crisis specialists are available and can help individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts, substance use, mental health crises, or any other kind of emotional distress.
The Catholic Charities Mental Health Ministry website is an excellent resource with much information about our ministry.
For more information, to offer suggestions, or if you need help
resolving a crisis, please contact the Saint Charles Mental Health
Ministry at CMHM@stcharleskc.com.

A Utah couple searched their house and neighborhood top to bottom for Galena, their missing cat. A week later, she was found in California, where she’d accidentally been shipped after climbing inside an Amazon return box. After spending six days inside the box, she was a bit skinnier and a touch dehydrated but no worse for wear.
