3. Rodents get their name from rodere or to gnaw and those incisors continue to grow forever.
4. In Arizona we have Roof rats,Norway rats,Pack rats Gophers and mice.
5. Rodents in general are scavengers and will eat just about anything.
6. An owl or hawk in your neighborhood is a good thing, just keep an eye out for small pets.Predatory birds eat a ton of mice, rats and snakes.
7. Rodents may spread over 35 diseases.We occasionally get cases of Hanta Virus and Bubonic Plague (especially in the 4 corners area up North.)

So you have decided to upgrade your home, casita or garage. If you decide to cut the concrete or if you replace carpet and notice cracks please call our office. Now is the time to take care of any additional entry points into the home. Especially if you are replacing carpet with tile, better to treat before we have an issue and have to drill the tile. There will be a charge but as I mentioned better than issues later. Any time that a concrete slab is cut, the opportunity for termite activity increases. Concrete and houses do settle and move, concrete breaks and cracks develop so always be aware and proactive.

Dragonflies are one of the oldest insects on the planet maybe 300 million years old.They might have had wingspans over 2 foot.More oxygen in the air = bigger insects.Females lay eggs on water, nymphs molt 6-15 times and emerge as a adult. Dragonflies have excellent vision.

Weeds

Monsoon is coming to an end and as the weather begins to warm the bugs and weeds become plentiful. Weeds are generally done twice a year Spring and Fall, we use a Post emergent (kills weeds present) and a Pre emergent (which kills the seed before it makes it to the service). Since we use a Pre emergent, remember it must be watered in. This way it gets to the seed, past the stone and stops it from growing.
