Capoeira in Columbus

CLAS Administrative Assistant Julio Beltrán (Formado Beriba) is offering a free capoeira trial class on Friday, December 9 at the Tuttle Park Community Center (240 W Oakland Ave). There will be a kids class from 6-6:50 PM, followed by an adults class from 7-8 PM. View a flyer with registration details here.

Julio will begin offering weekly capoeira classes on Tuesday, January 17, also at the Tuttle Park Community Center.

OFLA/CSCTFL Joint Conference 2023

The Ohio Foreign Language Association and the Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages have teamed up to host a joint conference in Columbus, March 9-11, 2023. The theme of the conference will be "Empathy, Equity, Empowerment."

The keynote address will be given by Spanish teacher and author A.C. Quintero and will be entitled "Inquire, Empower & Inspire to Greater Heights: Equity in Action!"

Registration is now open, and a tentative schedule of sessions and workshops is available.

Course Transformation Learning Community Grant

The Office of Academic Enrichment (OAE) is seeking applications for their Course Transformation Learning Community Grant for Spring 2023.

OAE is offering Course Transformation Learning Communities to support your process to get a course approved for a particular GE Theme, as an honors themes course, an integrative practice themes course or both. The learning communities will be facilitated by experts in course design and High-Impact Practices. Successful applicants will receive a total of $2,500 by course approval. The deadline for applications is January 16, 2023.

End-of-semester Concert

Stop by the Barnett Center (Sullivant Hall) this evening, 6 to 7:30 PM, for the Andean Music Ensemble's end-of-semester concert. Free and open to all!
