Thistle Hills, a sanctuary for women to transform their lives, is the first sister organization in this diocese of the well-known Thistle Farms. This past weekend, the Men's Fellowship team of St. David's in Radnor spent the day at Thistle Hills tackling the lawn, fence staining, weeding and mulching at the sanctuary. Your church can join the diocese and our other churches as a partner for this much needed organization.

On 4/25, Penn Live Arts and The Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral present the world premiere of Are We Yet Somehow Alive? Vocalist and composer Ruth Naomi Floyd makes her debut in this major new work that pairs jazz, blues, and gospel with fine art projections to share compelling first-person accounts from enslaved Africans in America. After last year’s march against gun violence - where 500 Pennsylvanians took over the state Capitol - we saw the most significant gun safety policies in years – if not decades – passed by the PA House with bipartisan support. We’re heading back to Harrisburg to keep building momentum and strengthen our movement to end gun violence in Pennsylvania. Marvelously Made: A Retreat for LGBTQ+ Persons of Faith. From 5/14-5/17, this retreat will offer a time for intentional prayer, reflection, and fellowship with others who have had similar experiences trying to live authentically and honestly within the fold of the Church. Details.

To celebrate the Feast of the Ascension, there will be a special Celtic Eucharist with candlelight and harp music on 5/9 at Church of the Messiah in Gwynedd. In our hurried and noisy world, Celtic Eucharist offers gracious space and an hour to enjoy the holiness of God, gently touched by candlelight, music and prayer. Details.

This Saturday, 4/27, The Anti-Racism Commission offers Intro to Systemic Racism, with the goal to help participants understand the historic creation, preservation, and personal and institutional effects of a society built upon ideas of racial difference. Details.

Each year the Steering Committee of Episcopal Church Women (ECW) allocates Domestic Mission Grants to parishes in this diocese. Grants may be used for maintenance of facilities and utilities to keep a church opened, community outreach programs, and other community orientated programs. Grants up to $2,000 may be requested. Details.
