Winnipeg, Manitoba (May 10, 2024) – A fulsome farm family focus will be featured at the 2024 Manitoba Forage and Grassland Association (MFGA) Regenerative Agriculture Conference thanks to a recent partnership between Holistic Management Canada (HMC) and MFGA that will see some of the family-based trademarks of a HMC conference at the annual and well-attended MFGA conference. Registration opened earlier this week online at MFGA.net.
"HMC's purpose is to activate and grow Holistic Management network in Canada in a way that empowers the network's members to regenerative land and communities," said Dana Penrice, HMC managing director. "The Holistic Management framework supports producers in transitioning to regenerative practices as demonstrated by many members in MFGA and by the speakers at the MFGA conference."
For their part, HMC will organize one conference block, including keynote speaker, moderator, and panel, as well as a host a silent auction and oversee a Kids Daycare Program for conference delegates to sign up their children while attending the conference. In addition to the HMC keynote, MFGA has already announced keynotes Will Harris of White Oak Pastures (virtual); John and Deann Chuiko of Saskatchewan around virtual fencing; Stuart Chutter on Business Risk Management and Paul Overby on regen ag crop rotations, with a few more major speaker announcements soon.
According to Mike Duguid, MFGA Chair, MFGA will continue to carry the bulk of organizing duties for the conference including the remaining agenda, trade show and menu organizing. The HMC partnership outreach, says Duguid, was well-received at the MFGA Board table.
“MFGA is fully onside with farm families learning more, networking and utilizing regenerative farm practices, especially those with a direct focus on soil health, water management and grazing systems,” said Duguid. “This is a solid win-win partnership agreement made with farmers and farm families front of mind so they can attend and take away the most values possible from attending our event.”
This will be MFGA’s 7th annual Regen Ag Conference and will be held Nov 12-13, 2024, at the Victoria Inn, Brandon, MB. The conference has become a “must-attend” event for many Manitoba farmers, shifting between 1.5 day (2024) and 2.5-day events to not compete with the larger Alberta Soil Health Grazing Conference held every two years in Edmonton (including this year).
More keynote announcements -including the HMC session- to round out the agenda are planned soon as well as a buffet meal on Tuesday night and a fireside chat in final details that attendees are sure to enjoy.
