Recipe of the month:
Pistachio Oat Squares
All nuts have beneficial nutrients for stress prevention, such as vitamin B, but pistachios stand out among them. They’ve been proven to be particularly calming in situations of acute stress, and these pistachio oat squares contain an equal quantity of pistachios and soothing whole-grain oats. They’re sweetened with maple syrup, and keep well for up to a week. When you’re reaching for dessert, this is a great option… and there’s no annoying cracking of pistachio shells required.

A new weight loss drug could become the best-selling drug of all time.
Who can afford it?
An Eli Lilly drug if approved for weight loss could become the best-selling drug of all time, but concerns are mounting about who will actually be able to afford it.
Experts are confident that the drug, called tirzepatide, will be granted approval by the Food and Drug Administration sometime next year. If that’s the case, it would join two other popular — and expensive — recently approved weight loss drugs on the market, Wegovy and Saxenda, both from the drugmaker Novo Nordisk.
More families facing price shocks for lifesaving children's medications
For years, Meghan Neri paid $30 apiece for packages of epinephrine auto-injectors for her two adolescent children with food allergies. The price for four packs of the lifesaving medication was a manageable $120 a year.
So Neri, 42, of Scituate, Massachusetts, was shocked when, in 2019, her family pharmacist said that each auto-injector pack would cost $600.
Her out-of-pocket cost for the year had skyrocketed to $2,400.
The price of the epinephrine shots themselves had not risen. The problem was the Neris had switched to a new, high-deductible health insurance plan to save money. Monthly payments are lower with high-deductible programs, but families must pay thousands of dollars each year before many costs — often including epi auto-injectors — are covered.
