BISHOP CANDEA INVITES YOU TO THE CONVERSATION

In June, our Central States Synod Assembly will consider a resolution submitted by the synod council calling for the synod to become a Reconciling in Christ Synod and adopt the following welcome statement:

Traveling the way of Jesus, who commanded his followers to love one another as Christ has loved, and believing that all persons are created in the image of God, this synod welcomes people of every race, background, age, political affiliation, economic and social status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and mental and physical ability. As a synod we strive to enable all people to participate fully in the life and work of the church in the ministry of Jesus Christ.

Recognizing that among people of faith, there are a variety of opinions, perspectives and feelings regarding sexual orientation and gender identity, Bishop Candea will be hosting conversations prior to the assembly. You may participate in these virtual conversations using the information below. You may also learn more at www.css-elca.org/
