Empowering the Homeless
Join us on April 28th at 10am in Ogram Hall to hear from Mason Ayres, Interim Executive Director of Resurrection House. Resurrection House is faith-based a resource center that services the homeless of Sarasota County. They offer a place where daily physical comforts are offered to everyone. Bathroom facilities, showers, and meals. We are fortunate to supply them with a meal every month. Please attend and hear about the great works of our church and others to support this mission.

A Safe Place is its Mission
Join us on April 28th at 10am in Ogram Hall to hear from Sandy Fulkerson, President of SPARCC Auxiliary. SPARCC stands for a “Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center” and the Auxiliary serves as an ambassador for SPARCC. The amazing volunteers help promote empowerment, awareness, and social change to work towards the end of domestic and sexual violence. Please stop by and learn about this amazing cause!

REFUGEE UPDATE

Sarasota Contemporary Dance Ensemble (SCDE) is in its 5th season and is excited to perform a professional, evening-length showcase entitled "Evolutions." This performance features a range of dances from contemporary floor work to the Jazzy 80s.
SCDE will be presenting works choreographed by Associate Directors Xiao-Xuan Dancigers and Melissa Rummel, SCD member Monessa Sally, past company member Mary Rennels, and SCDE member Nicole Connaughton.
To close the evening, SCDE will be accompanied by live drumming.

Join us 15 minutes before both the 9 & 11am services during the month of May for a Spring Hymn Sing! This is just an informal time to share some of our beautiful songs together. Choose any favorite hymn from either our Evangelical Lutheran Worship (red) or With One Voice (blue) hymnals -- just call out the # and we'll give it a go! Community Service Ministry Update
The Community Service Committee thanks everyone for their support of the March Personal Hygiene and Cleaning Supplies Drives. The in-kind drives were hugely successful and were shared with Second Heart homes, SPARCC, School House Link and the Refugee Ministry.

Movement and Gratitude Exercise Class
Please join us on Tuesdays at 9:00am for exercise class in Fellowship Hall or on Zoom. Our instructor, Karri Weber, is happy to answer any questions you might have. Please contact the Church Office.
Class description below:
Functional movement for is the mission! With a mix of of joint fluidity and stability utilizing low impact aerobics, strengthening, stretching and body movement to feel good music. Light inviting atmosphere filled with laughter and joy. Focus is on injury prevention and connecting to the body. This class also incorporates improving balance and range of motion. A low intensity but high efficiency well-rounded workout with a warm and uplifting atmosphere!
Modifications and use of chairs optional! Class is especially geared towards seniors but all ages and degrees of health are welcome!

If you’ve ordered a name tag, they are hanging on the name tag wall outside of the sanctuary. Don’t forget to wear your name tag on Sundays in order to get to know your neighbor! If you still need a name tag, please contact Nina at nina@saklc.com or at 941-388-1234.

Pastor Ken's Weekly Bible Study | |
Each week, throughout the year, Pr. Ken leads a Bible study on Wednesday mornings, from 11:00am-noon via zoom. If you wish to join in-person, please let Pastor know in advance. The class discusses the Scripture texts assigned for the forthcoming Sunday worship services. Pr. Ken shares a calendar month of handouts in advance, so that participants can look ahead, and read the comments of Lutheran scholars prior to each session. Please reach out to him at pastor@saklc.com so he can share the materials with you beforehand. Each week there is a good mix of lay people, and retired pastors, with each group bringing their unique perspectives on life and Scripture – it’s a fun group!
