Our Mission Is To Maintain And Strengthen The City's Diversity, Equity, And Accountability.

Greetings!
This September, we made history. We lit up the city in a mosaic of colors during LA For All Week and celebrated LA For All becoming the largest anti-hate PSA campaign in Los Angeles city history.
Now in 18 languages and on over 5,000 ad spaces, we are proud to make it known that "LA is for Everyone."
Each of these moments is a meaningful opportunity to celebrate each other and Los Angeles. As I said at LA For All Day, diversity is our greatest strength - it deserves to be celebrated and protected.
Keep the faith and keep the fight,
- Capri Maddox
Executive Director
Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department

LA For All Lights up Los Angeles
|
From September 19th through 23rd, we celebrated our first-ever LA For All Week, a weeklong celebration of LA's diversity and solidarity against hate. The festivities culminated in LA For All Day on Thursday, September 22nd, when we lit up the city in the colors of the LA For All campaign.
When we all stand up for belonging and inclusion, Los Angeles wins. We are so grateful to our partners that make LA For All possible, including Mayor Eric Garcetti, the Los Angeles City Council, our Human Relations Commission, LA Metro, our LA City Departments, LAUSD, and so many others.

Celebrating Student Artists Against Hate
|
|
On September 20th, we hosted an LA For All Student Art Showcase at Cal State LA University Library. Each one of the 38 works tells a story about Los Angeles, and together, reveal our diversity, creativity, and possibility.
We celebrated these students with Cal State LA leadership, our Human Relations Commission, the Office of Councilmember Kevin de León, and many others. We are so proud of our LA For All Student artists and are excited to continue showing their work.
These works were completed last year in Professor Zachary Vernon's undergraduate course, and are now officially a part of the Cal State LA University archive. Click here to view the digital gallery.

LA Civil Rights wishes our Jewish communities a blessed New Year and High Holidays Season.
This time of year includes Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, on September 26-27, Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, on October 4-5, and Sukkot, a "feast of booths" giving thanks for food and shelter, October 9-16.
Our friends at the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) state that Judaism places a high value on living an ethical life while at the same time recognizing that humans are fallible. For that reason, this season, with its emphasis on atonement and forgiveness, is particularly important and meaningful.
Shanah Tovah!
