MORAGA POLICE CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN
candy_bucket.jpg
Moraga Police officers continued our tradition and celebrated Halloween by distributing candy and visiting with trick-or-treaters throughout Moraga. Nine members of the Police Department passed out over 60 lbs. of candy supplied by Chief King and Lt. Borbely. Officers were also able to deter a number of traffic violators, ensuring the safety of our kids and parents who were trick-or-treating. Thanks to all for a great night!
LAMORINDA ACTION PLAN
Stop by the Moraga Farmers' Market!
Please stop by the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) booth at the Moraga Farmers' Market on Sunday, November 6 to provide input on the Lamorinda Action Plan that will establish regional transportation objectives. Additional information about the draft Lamorinda Action Plan may be found at the Southwest Area Transportation Committee (SWAT) website: https://swatcommittee.org, or at the Town of Moraga website: Lamorinda Action Plan Update 2022 | Moraga, CA.
REMINDER! RECYCLESMART ROUTE MONITORING
Just a reminder that RecycleSmart will conduct route monitoring next week, Monday – Friday. Contracted field staff will be looking in residential carts in the early morning, as well as commercial carts in the evenings.

A new state law requires that every jurisdiction conduct annual route audits to monitor contamination, including the proper sorting of organics (food scraps, yard trimmings and uncoated food-soiled paper) from landfill. If something is found in the wrong cart, a “cart tag” explaining what materials or contamination was discovered will be left, as well as tips for proper sorting.

Visit RecycleSmart at RecycleSmart.org for more information, or call (925) 906-1801.
MEASURE X TOWN HALL
The County Wants To Hear From You About Housing!
Measure X is a voter-approved 20-year tax initiative that will provide funding for many critical services in Contra Costa County, including services for people at-risk of homelessness and experiencing homelessness. On November 16, 2021, the Board of Supervisors approved and committed a portion of Measure X funds for the creation of the Measure X Housing Fund to support the development of new affordable housing, housing related services (including homeless prevention services), innovation/capacity building activities, and homeless crisis response services.

Contra Costa Health Services (CHSS) and the Contra Costa Department of Conservation and Development (DCD) will be holding a series of three joint Town Halls to receive input on what housing-related and homelessness-related services should be prioritized in the first year.
